  2. The Service is not directed to children, and children may not create accounts.

2) Account, Approval, and Community Access

  1. Invite-only / Request-to-Join: Access may require an invitation or approval. We may approve, deny, suspend, or revoke access at our discretion to protect community trust and safety.
  2. Real Name Policy: You agree to register using your real legal name and provide accurate information.
  3. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account.

3) Community Standards and Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  1. Violate any law or regulation.
  2. Post or share content that is unlawful, threatening, harassing, hateful, sexually exploitative, or otherwise harmful.
  3. Share other people's private information without permission (including children's information).
  4. Upload malicious code, attempt unauthorized access, or disrupt the Service.
  5. Spam, solicit, or conduct unauthorized commercial activity.
  6. Impersonate any person or misrepresent your identity.
  7. Circumvent moderation decisions or restrictions.

We may remove content, restrict features, suspend, or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or community standards.

4) User Content and License

  1. User Content includes posts, comments, messages, profile information, photos, files, and other materials you submit ("User Content").
  2. You retain ownership of your User Content. However, you grant TIE Academy a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, display, distribute (to members consistent with your settings), and otherwise use your User Content solely to operate, maintain, and improve the Service.
  3. You represent you have the rights and permissions necessary to submit User Content, including any child-related information you provide.

5) Child-Related Information Provided by Parents

  1. The Service allows parents/guardians to provide certain information about their children (e.g., name, birth month/year, gender, interests) as part of the community profile.
  2. You confirm that you are a parent/legal guardian or otherwise authorized to provide this information, and you consent to its processing and member visibility as configured in the Service.
  3. You are responsible for ensuring the child-related information you provide is accurate and appropriate for sharing within the Service.

6) Safety, Moderation, and Notice-and-Action

  1. We use moderation tools (e.g., reporting, keyword filters, review queues) to help keep the community safe and constructive.
  2. Reporting: You may report content or users via in-app reporting or by emailing [email protected].
  3. Actions: We may remove/hide content, lock discussions, restrict accounts, or require pre-approval on certain boards.
  4. Appeals: If you believe a moderation decision was incorrect, you may appeal by contacting [email protected] with relevant details. We will review appeals and respond within a reasonable period.

7) Third-Party Services and Links

The Service may contain links to third-party websites and may embed third-party content (e.g., YouTube). We do not control third-party services and are not responsible for their content, policies, or practices. Your use of third-party services is subject to their terms and privacy policies.

8) Digital Communications, Announcements, and Daily Digests

  1. We may send service-related emails (e.g., security notices, admin announcements, event reminders).
  2. Some notifications (e.g., replies to your posts/comments) may be provided as a daily digest rather than real-time alerts.

9) Storage, File Uploads, and Prohibited Files

  1. The Service may allow uploads such as PDFs and images, subject to size and format limits.
  2. You agree not to upload content that is unlawful, infringing, or violates these Terms.

10) Suspension, Termination, and Restrictions

We may suspend, restrict, or terminate your account (and remove or limit User Content) if:

  1. You violate these Terms;
  2. Your conduct risks harm to members or the Service; or
  3. We are required to do so by law or for security reasons.

You may stop using the Service at any time. You may request deletion of your account as described in the Privacy Policy.

11) Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, MERCHANTABILITY, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE.

12) Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, TIE ACADEMY WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in such cases, the above limitations apply only to the extent permitted.

13) Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless TIE Academy from claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms, including your User Content.

14) Changes to the Service and Terms

We may modify the Service or these Terms from time to time. We will post updates with a revised "Last Updated" date. Material changes may be communicated through the Service or by email. Your continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

15) Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Connecticut, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
